Adsense ads blocked by Firewall?

I can't see adsense ads from office, all I get is white box instead of ads. This is definitely some software blocking google ads at office.

Is there any way to get around this? Site looks ugly with plain white blocks in it.

Strangely, I get yahoo ads just fine :)

Interesting.. What kind of firewall is it? Any other details you can provide would be appreciated!

In my office I can still see them...I hope this "ad blocking" doesn't become a common thing.

You are probably being run through an ad-blocking proxy server at work.

Well if you have JavaScript enabled and the ads are still missing, then I'd say the easiest way to get the ads back (or to find out if it is possible) is to contact your companys IT department.

Again, just find out what they are using. Once we know that, it is pretty easy to determine ways around IT (pun intended.. it/IT) :)

I seen several proxies with the ability to do so. They are considered as firewalls though. It would be pretty simple to block adsense ads.

If you have norton and turn on ad blocking you won't see adsense ads. When I first came to DP I couldn't see much of anything cause I was blocking ads. It really isn't bad on some sites, it takes out their clutter.

Do you have Norton internet security/firewall/antivirus installed on the machine? It is notorious for blocking popups/ads etc.

As I said in a post a couple months back, the same is at my job site, we have tons of computers there and lots of folks get on the net. Will, one day I went to one of my sites to have a look, not one ad would show either. In the area where there should of been adsense ads, all there was is blank space.

The IT guy said it was there firewall package that did it, it stopped all popups, and ads, and it seemed too... :(

Maybe it is not in your hands: I hear that Google do not deliver ads to some IP adresses - ads could not be viewed if you are on .edu network, etc. Google block them to be delivered. Could not confirm from here (Europe) heh..

Shall I add more mystery? When I run my site on localhost (for dev, testing) I see google ads just fine :)

I am sure its some firewall or kind of software doing this.

That would actually make sense, since most proxies bypass local addresses such as localhost.
