Adsense ads are relevant to myself but not my website

Hi all,

I have come across a curious situation. I have a website which is about films. I review them and post a link to amazon together with a trailer. Initially the site was displaying relevant ads to the content of my website, but now whenever I view the site I am presented with ads relevant to what I have been searching on Google which produces two questions in my mind.

1. Is there anyway that I can display ads relevant to the sites content?
2. If the sites are relevant to me, does that mean I am able to click them? (I'm guessing the answer is no and I am not going to click any of these ads anyway, but it's something I would like to know anyway).

Any help gratefully received.

TIA

1. This is not a big problem if Adsense shows interest based ads on your site. You can block interest based ads. For this login your adsense account and click Allow and block ads > Advanced setting. You will get Interest-based Ads Preference option. Click on tick sign to block it. But blocking interest based ads may decrease your earnings.
2. NO

1. Don't you worry because the ads differs on who is viewing it, so that ads that you are seeing now is not the same ads that is being presented to your seatmate. Google has the technology to detect your surfing habits and will present ads that is based on your habits.
2. Absolutely, NO.

Thanks for the responses. It's a lot clearer, and I definitely won't be clicking anything. :)

Trust me, you really don't want to click your own ads. This could be a good thing, you may experience a better click through rate.
