Adsense adds with kontera adds... is it allowed

Hi, can anyone tell me if it's against Google TOS to put Kontera adds on the same pages as Google adds...

I was of the understanding that it is against Google TOS to put any other forms of contextual advertisments on the same page, but there is a new site creation program just out that allthough it looks brilliant it puts affiliate contextual adds on the same pages as Google adds.

The affiliate adds look just like Kontera adds i.e. little pop up boxes with descriptions in and a link to click on.

I woud ask Google about this but there response time is too slow as this new program is a time sensitive offer.

    Thanks letas,

I emailed Google but it will probably be next week now before they get back to me.

I did find some other reply emails that members had posted and it seems you can use adds so long as they are not Contextual. Anyway I got the program.

I have just been contacted by kontera, as they wish to place their content link on my website. My site is currently running adsense and so I e-mailed them and told them that it is against Googles TOS.

I was e-mailed back saying that it is not against their TOS as they do not look like Google ads

This is from the Google policy page-

    Competitive Ads and Services
We do not permit Google ads or search boxes accessing Google search services to be published on web pages that also contain what could be considered competing ads or services. This would include ads that mimic Google ads or otherwise appear to be associated with Google on your site. If you have elected to receive content-based Google ads, this would also include all other content-targeted ads. If you have elected to receive Google search services, this would include other search services on the same site and non-Google query-targeted ads. We do allow affiliate or limited-text links.

The guy from Kontera pointed out that there are thousands of sites that are using both adsense and Kontera at the same time, which there are. But there is no way I will risk it as it clearly seems to be against Googles Rules!

I also got a reply from Google ... here it is.

So either thousands of websites are risking Google's wrath or we are missing out on something..... it's all very confusing

If its contextual, then I doubt if Google will allow it.
