If adbrite used PayPal would it be more popular than adsense?

Adbrite can be quite high paying for clicks and impressions.

I highly doubt it.. For most webmasters (myself included) Adbrite earns nowhere near what Adsense does..

It doesn't matter how they pay, its how much they pay that matters.

actually I find adbrite is quite nice especially for lower traffic sites. I earn more with adbrite then with Google, so it's all a matter of how you set it up. The only problem is that there aren't as much advertisers on Adbrite as on Google, which is quite a shame because a lot of advertisers are missing out on some pretty good opportunities - they'res alot of good sites to advertise on Adbrite that would normally cost a whole lot more if done directly through the site or if you go through Google. I mean advertising on a high traffic site ($30,000 a day) can be as cheap as $15 for a month.

google have some many advertisers on the adwords program, that's why adsense is working so good.

I use them both. Adsense does better on some sites, while Adbrite does better on others. Some work well with a mixture of the two.
