Adsense Account Disabled for Policy Violation.

    Hi,

On Monday I received the dreaded 'Google AdSense Account Disabled' email.

I thought it may have been to do with click fraud or invalid/suspicious activity as my earnings were up to over $17,000 for April compared with $7,200 for March. I had $16,000 in January.

The reason given was non compliance of program policy and it then dawned on me that I completely forgot to upload the new Privacy Policy.

I successfully received my payment for March and assume that I will get paid for April as they did not mention that I would not.

I've decided to pull down all my websites and redevelop them to make sure that nothing else is wrong with regards to Adsense policy. Once done I will reupload the sites and check them properly again to make sure nothing is missed.

I will then fill in the appeal form and explain the changes that have been made to Googles appeal's team.

Does anyone think that this is a good idea and what do you think my chances are of getting my account reactivated?

The email I received from Adsense is quite mild in language as comopared to some of those posted by others that have been disabled.

There is no mention of Click Fraud, Invalid Clicks, Suspicious Activity, Financially Damaging to Advertisers or any mention of the term Serious Violation.

I would like to hear your comments before I proceed with my action.

    Thanks for reading.

My advise is to keep going.

    Thanks

I'm not denying that I've done anything wrong. I was missing vital information in my privacy policy. The appeals form for policy violation asks for details of changes made to comply to their policy. I want to know if the steps that I'm about to take may be good enough for being reinstated as I'm taking the effort to rectify my error.

non compliance of program policy includes everything from invalid/fraud clicks and other issues like dispalying mutliple adsense on same page, adsense with other contextual network ads on the same page, adsense on pop up/under pages and so on. This DOESN'T actually mean that its due to not updating of new program policy though it might be one reason.

If nothing can be done then why have an appeals form.

There are 2 boxes on the appeals form.

    The first one is:
What changes have you made to your site in order to comply with our program policies?

    The second one is:
Please let us know if you have any questions or need clarification regarding any policies related to the notification you've received.

Adsense has 2 appeals form. One for invalid click activity and another for Policy Noncompliance.
Therefore their forms assume different things.

I think this is what you are looking for.

Before you apply you must make changes in your site and then use this appeal form to contact them.

The statement "What changes have you made to your site in order to comply with our program policies?" ,in my opinion, means that they are asking for changes and if you have made enough changes to make your sites comply with adsense policies, they will reinstate your account.

This is different from invalid click activity cases and I hope they may not be very strict in reinstating your account.

    Wish you best of luck!

Thats what I thought. If they were not expecting any changes then the form would be irrelevant.

I've done a lot of research on disabled accounts and I could only find information on people unsuccessfully appealing for click fraud reasons.

hmmm yeh it is very general - in a good way i think it's better Policy Noncompliance than invalid click activity.
anyway, good luck and keep us updated mate.

    Hi,

    Thanks for your views.

I've spent the past week redesigning my website (including my privacy policy) to make sure it complies with the adsense policy to the letter with my grey areas.
I'll be submitting my appeal to Adsens today, mentioning the changes made to my website as requested on the appeals form. I hope it's good enough for them to reconsider my account status.

I would still like to hear the views of DP members, both positive and negative.

IMO, the issue wasn't Privacy Policy.

I have a feeling that Google didn't like the content of your sites.

Can you share the url plz...?

    Hi,

Just an update on my situation.
Adsense have paid my $17,000 directly into my bank account so I can rule out click fraud / invalid clicks as the reason for my banning.

Therefore if you have been banned for a policy violation then Adsense will pay you. They will not pay you if you tried to cheat them.

It's been over a month now and I still have not received any response to my appeal to adsense.
I'll probably sent a follow up email to them sometime next week.
