I heard that having links on your site to an external site affects your page ranking. If so, will putting Adsense on my website have a negative affect on my site page ranking?
It does not effect your page rank, the only thing that will change that is who is linking to your website. The more sites that link to your's, the better chance you have of your PR going up. However if you link to non reputable websites, or you put a lot of gambling or adult links on your site then yes that can actually hurt you in the long run. Unless your website is in the same or similar niche as those sites do not link to them.
How does having adsense ads on your website help increase the PR? That makes no sense to me. Only way to increase a sites PR is by having good quality backlinks to your site. Adsense is putting other advertisers links on your website, your link is not going on there site.
AdSense ads are rendered using Javascript (they don't pass PR to the advertisers). AdSense ads on your site should not affect your sites SERPs directly. Putting a bunch of AdSense on your pages could affect how willing other people are to link to you though, so there could be an indirect effect if folks view your site/pages as MFA (made for adsense). Having a bunch of links on your site/page going out to external sites that are related in subject matter could give your page hub status (which can help). Having a bunch of unrelated links won't give you hub status, and drains the link equity of your site from the internal linking structure.
I have been told that in theory, having adsense on your site actually helps you page ranking with google, this is because you are using their service and letting them know you still exist.
Doesn't affect your PageRank, but the person that you are linking to (with the exception to bad websites can decrease how much Google "like" you) Oh and I don't think that Adsense counts towards it because it is a script, but not 100% sure about this.
No AdSense won't affect your rankings in any way. Having too much outbound links could penalize you, but AdSense will not be the reason.
1. Hi seo renter, you are right - they pretend (and publish so), but they DO READ it!! What is not as clear; do they "count" what they read? Or are they still (somehow) ignoring it??? 2. Gaining PR with AdSense code on your page? That's a really stong statement against all observations and tests on the theme! I'd like to see some proof.
adsense will not effect your page rank. * you will not get better page rank because of that you have adsense on your site. * you will not loose page rank because of that you have adsense on your site.
