Adsence Revenue Sharing

To share revenue.. or not to share?

I've been considering sharing revenue on a few of my websites, one is designed for affiliates... one for work at home parents. My thinking is that sharing will increase posting which increases stickyness, and content.

Actually .. as a side thought, wouldn't it be groovy if someone added referalls to the adsence sharing mix ;)

Anyway, most of the revenue the sites are earning (pretty new sites) is google. So I mean I don't want to shoot myself in the foot by adding it..

    Any thoughts?

I'm planning on sharing AdSense revenues (50-50) on one of my sites - didn't start yet but I think it will create links in a cheaper and more "viral" way than what I could do buying them.

And, by the way, I also have a few referral banners on my site... ;)

Well the way my "AdSense revenue sharing scheme" works (I wrote it myself...) is:

    1. you create a link with http://url-of-my-site.com/?r=whatever (this means that you "subscribed" to my program and you entered your AdSense Client ID)
    2. everytime a user clicks on this links and then registers on my site there is a 50% probability that Google Ads with your Client ID will be shown ON ALL PAGES HE VISITS, FOREVER

So in order to activate this referal thing you need to put my link on your site - and unless you put a "nofollow" in it I also get a bit of PR. (BTW, the site I'm talking about is not the one in my sig...)

    Clear? ;)
    Ciao!

I am using Rev. Sharing on my site. I have gotten a couple of articles submitted that would qualify as written for Adsense I guess.
I have not yet activated it on my Forums and I am still debating if I should (don't want tons of junk posts).
Overall I think its a nice motivator for a lot of people and quite frankly only a percentage of your users is going to take advantage of it (meaning on most of the articles you are still making 100%).
When I set it up, I wrote a post explaining how it works and telling my users ways to promote their article (use the link in their email signature ...). The idea is that they help to promote their article (and thus the site) to make more revenue (so far not much is happening in that area).
My script also supports referrals (they refer someone else to my site and if that person writes an article they get a percentage of that revenue too), but I don't use it yet, since I think they will just sign up through the link themself.

Well, today I have started AdSense Revenue Sharing on my forums. I hope this will motivate at least some of the members and they will start posting/participating. I am not sure that what impact it will make on my forums but I don't see much harm in doing so.

Let's hope for the best :)

It would be very helpful if you could share your experience here and keep us informed on how the thing is going - and how you are promoting it to your users... Tnx! :)

revenue sharing can help small sites grow quite quickly. Although later on its whether the share will be sufficient to pay all the hosting costs and such.
