Ads can help you pay for the traffic generated by your proxy. However, some ads such as Adsense cannot be used with Proxies.

The non-proxified pages would inevitably not draw really good high paying ads. It would be better that you sell ad spaces as that would cover your cost. Waiting for someone to click on some ads may not really yield the income that you need to cover cost.

You'll obviously get more value for the ads if you have more traffic.

It may be a wise marketing move to offer the site without advertising at the start, but I think what most people tend to care about in Proxies is the actual service, whether or not it's caught by school filters, and how much promotion it gets.

I normally tend to start websites off with as little on-site advertisement as possible, as obtrusive ads on a mediocre/new site tend to turn me off, but I guess it's more about personal opinion.

With only a few visitors a day, the expenses probably aren't that great, and you can likely afford to not have advertisements.

Run paying adds, as many as you can get.

No, I don't think the proxy users mind ads.
