Ads not showing, problem that I can't fix.

Discussion in 'Google AdWords' started by Cooolr, Feb 2, 2009.

Hey it's not been 5 days and my ads aren't showing.
I'm bidding 1.50 $ which it says is enough to get in the top 3.

It says active everywhere, but actually in grey which I don't know is normal or not. I have a quality score of 7-8 and I should get many clicks a day.

When I hover over the ad it says the ad is not showing! And it's been saying that forever, but still, it says its active.

This is a new account, I've confirmed it, and I used the 250 dollar starting coupon to get 250 free dollars. But I've also confirmed with a credit card and I'm using prepay billing.

I'm getting furiously mad, it's a huge campaign and it has many ad groups, but well it's not that big.

Just as I thought Google Adwords was going to help me.

I contacted them 4 days ago, or 5, and they still haven't answered.

This is just dumb, and great.
Yesterday I started another campaign with simular stuff in it but all done much better, its now been over 12 hours, and nothing.

It says its active but then when you hover over it it says no.

And I can't check it myself because I live in Iceland and these ads are only for U.S, Canada, United Kingdom, and Australia.

    Anyone know what is wrong?

Possibly an account review - what does it say exactly when hovering over the magnifying glass next to your keywords? Go into more details and recommendations as there may be more info there.

Also - you can check you ads from anywhere in the world using the Google Advert Preview Tool

It can't be an account review.
I made the account 10 days before I started advertising.

When hovering over, it says exactly:

    Keyword Analysis: online money

    Ad showing?
    No
The keyword phrase doesn't currently trigger any of your ads.
There are several possible reasons your ad isn't showing for this keyword, including:

    * You just added the keyword to your campaign. You may experience a short wait as your keyword goes through the review process.
    * Our system is experiencing a delay.

For details on specific criteria for this test, click the following link.
    Details and recommendations »

    Quality Score:
    Great (8/10)
    Details and recommendations »

    "
    That's what it says.
I've looked at all the reasons this might be happening but none actually fit at all.

But it still says active. But active in a gray color which doesn't look so exciting or good to me.

It can - an account review can be called at any time when you are advertising. It sounds likely with the results you mention above. This can last a few days or quite a while. I'd try getting hold of Google again and see if you can get them to confirm it or not.

Within the Details & Recommendations section does it say that your ads are showing or not?

    Reasons:

This keyword isn't triggering any of your ads.

    What does this mean?
There are a variety of reasons why your keyword is not triggering any ads. If you've just added the keyword phrase to your campaign, you may want to check back in a few moments to see if the status for your keyword has changed. Our specialists review each submitted keyword, so you may experience a momentary delay. Another explanation is that our system may be experiencing a delay.

    What can I do?
To improve your ad delivery, you may want to raise your daily budget since it directly affects your ad delivery. If your budget is set below the recommended budget, your ads may not receive all possible impressions. Learn more about modifying your daily budget. Another solution is to adjust your delivery settings to standard or accelerated delivery.

    Ad Showing Criteria
This test checks whether your ad shows when a user searches for your keyword under these specific conditions:

    Search domain: www.google.co.uk
    Display language: English
    User's location: United Kingdom

To run this test for different conditions, use the Ads Diagnostic Tool .

The Diagnostic Tool calculates results based on a variety of dynamic search factors. These results may change at any time.
    "

I've only got 1 ad, but its excellent, and 1 out of all those keywords should trigger the ad if not all of them.

I have it on accelerated, I've put a $250 daily amount.

But WOW, thank you for helping me.
    Thanks a lot :)

Here is a tool that might be of some use to you now and in the future:

    https://adwords.google.com/select/AdTargetingPreviewTool

It allows you to see your ad in the perspective of another ad or country. We use it due to the fact we have many international clients. If you have any questions about it then feel free to ask.

    It's not showing.

But I contacted them, so I guess its up to me and the google team to get these ads running. I just have to yell at them :D

Log into your Google Adwords Account - Click "Tools" Tab followed by "Ads Diagnostic Tool" (not the Keyword Tool).

Click the circle next to "All Keywords in Campaign" then select a Campaign from the drop down box. Fill out the rest of the Option 1 Portion of the form.

From there, it will perform a test on your entire campaign and will show you exactly why your ads aren't showing. If it simply says you have to contact support, it means your AdWords account is under review and can take any where from a couple of hours to a few days. It will then give you a link to a special form used to contact the review department.

I had my AdWords account under review four times in seven days, each lasting about five hours. Each time I passed their review and my ads started running again.
