Hey all, I have an article on my blog related to a certain niche. The adsense ads that are generated are advertising Word Press products. I want ads related to my niche not the blog software. The site has been up for about 20 or so days. Can someone help. I am sure its something straight forward I have to do. Site is below http://familylaw.skybrass.com/
In terms of SEO your title and meta tags don't look adequate - but your site/page seems new. You might wait a bit to see if googlebot spots it's error and adjusts your site's valuation, depending on crawl frequency. It's not normal that they can't spot your "real" theme so you may give 'em some help with proper meta tags or specific google adsense tags developed for special (difficult to regognize) setups. (Consult their help pages for such situations.
I checked your archived page (post page) and it is running appropriate ads. For some reason adsense thinks the home page is about word press, perhaps if you removed some of the references to word press on that page. Such as updating the About Page. Or these links #Meta, * Login, * Valid XHTML,* XFN and * WordPress. You might try adding some buddy links that refer to your niche. Some more posts might help as well. And do get the keyword and description meta tags in place.
You can use a plugin like All-In-One-SEO-Pack. It allows you to alter meta tags for all posts and pages.
I see that you made a couple of changes and that relevant ads are now appearing! If you still want to work on the meta tags... I only have one wordpress blog, which was set-up by someone else for me, so I don't know how consistent wordpress is, but this is what works for me. Login into your wordpress area, select the Presentation section and then the Theme Editor, then select the header.php . Make a copy of the code before you edit it, just in case!! Add meta tags after the title </title> and before the </head> as you would on any web page. Then save the changes or update the file. Again you may have a different set-up, but that is what I have available. My lack of experience with wordpress makes me cautious, so if anyone else does this differently...
You should use keywords, description etc.. optimize meta things a bit.. i see you only have trouble on the frontpage. @Aldouspi That's an option.. he could also modify the header.php from his theme. He should not use the same meta stuff for all pages. That's why he better can use a seo plugin or do it with php. Every post, category etc his own title, description and eventually keywords. Don't you think.. If you want to do it manually without plugins.. just modify the files etc. You should take a look at seoegghead.com, joostdevalk.nl. They have enough / posts to start with, just search their blogposts.
That is a good point, looks like the seo plugin is the route to follow. Now I have to learn about it, too! That is what I like about DP, I keep finding out new things to try out!
