Ads not found on Non-Existent Pages

    Hi,

I have a whole pile of text files that, as far as I know, are not available on my site via any link. They are simply for personal storage but unfortunately ads will not validate because these files don't have ads on them. I then tried moving all the files folders outside the website entirely, but the ads still won't validate. Any ideas?

    Thanks,
    Jeremy

They must be indexed in google somehow, as that is what the validator checks against. Go to google and ask them to remove the URL of those files, and then change your robot.txt file to not allow them to search those in the future.

    Hi wendydettmer wnd Smyrl,

Thanks for the replies, those pages were linked briefly and Google must've crawled them. I won't remove pages from Google in robots.txt or through their online form just to avoid any possible complications - if Google is happy to crawl fast I'm going to do as little as possible to change that. Thanks for the solution I'm sure that's it, and I'll just wait till the pages leave the index of their own accord.

    Cheers,
    Jeremy
