There was another Adsense blog policy clarification post that said the ads should not be placed near clickable items like buttons or navigation bars. So I'm wondering, how far apart do they have to be? I've download the Super Adsense theme and by default it places an adsense link unit underneath a horizontal navigation bar. You can see a screenshot of the theme here: http://themes.easywordpress.com/images/adsense-wordpress.jpg You can see the wide horizontal ad unit below the navbar with "home" and "contact" buttons. (You should assume the navbar would stretch at least halfway across the page with additional buttons buttons.) Yes, I've emailed adsense support and they sent me back some form reply about how to change the name on my account (???).
there is no rules on this.google is just warning people they shouldn't have the ads where it will clicked on by mistake. i thing one reason alot of people get banned is because of the placement. ask yourself will it get alot of miss-clicks. i dont think there is a problem with that spot if they're not drop down menus. it looks like a good enough space. as for the email, there might have been some mixup with the emails.
Zodiac, if you dont know. Read this post by Adsense team. they made it very clear that navigation bar should not be very close to adsense ads. if you navigation doesnt have drop down. you should be alright. howevr clarify with them if you want to.
i've just read their first blog posting about it. this one, they made it clear that it "does not violate the program policies" and "use your best judgment". isn't that what i said?
no you prolly confused him more you were right but it wasnt very clear. anyways being a senior member, we need to guide the new members with good information.
when i have looked the example picture that you give , i did not see anythink against the adsense tos
That theme is perfectly OK, you have nothing to worry about. Go ahead and use it, you won't get banned for this.
The only thing I see, is that you have a label that says "Related Info" and you put Google ads under that label. I think the only labels it should have is "Sponsored Links" or something to that effect.
