I started two new campaigns in the past two weeks but the ads are not showing even though the keywords are approved. Some keywords don't even have that many advertisers, so it's not a problem of bidding too low. Anyone else have this problem? Spoke to someone at adCenter but it didn't sound like they knew what they were talking about.
I got an email back from support which wasn't really helpful. They told me to try putting dynamic text in the title, increase the bids, yada yada yada. If the ads are already not showing when there are only 5 competitors, I don't see how increasing the bids will help. And it's not that my landing page is irrelevant. I'm bidding on "red widgets" and my landing page is about "red widgets". How much more relevant can I get? Meanwhile I'm seeing others with ads that land on pages that have nothing to do with the keyword I'm searching with. My conclusion - adCenter is broken in its present state. I'll stick with Google and Yahoo for now till they can get their act together.
Adcenter works... just on a slower timescale to the others. You can't sit down and tweak your campaigns over time like you can with Google, if I do a campaignwide bid change, it's state will be set back to "Submitted" and it'll be another bunch of days before things start rolling again. It's really a pain in the ass for testing. They should most definitely remove the resubmissions just for bid changes, added keywords etc. I can't possibly imagine the human resources they've got dedicated to approving keywords after bid changes.
