I see that on many sites, but it is legal or not ? (Ads with picture border?)

I don't see why shouldn't this be allowed... The google code is unaltered, it's just a strange shaped box the ad is located in. I hadn't seen this before but I find it very stylish and clever! I hope this is not against google TOS.

I believe it is legal, as long as it seperates itself from any other pictures

Send G a quick email and then let us know what they say here :)

Their answer is the only one in my opinion to be taken seriously.

If that is done without altering/changing the ad code, then its fine.
On the other hand.. picture near the adblock is against TOS.
Only adsense support can answer it.

The Ad Code is without changing, and picture is not near adblock, picture is on background of adblock.

Yes, that is a background, not an actually web image to view. Your thinking of placing ads near images which is a seperate thing. Your good to go.

I was refuzed once a placement like this because "it artificially draws user attention to the ad". Better ask them before u use it.

Yeah I have to agree with asking the big "G" because they do state in the TOS that it is against the rules to use any kind of image/template that promotes your ads.

They will probably say it is illegal because it is confusing user, drawing attention away from "Ads" and making it seeml ike the rest of the site, of your content boxes are shaped simillarly.

Adsense does not provide that curvy shape of ad block.. so it may be violation TOS.

I remember this issue ... and the answer is no, you can't do this .. I know this site that had like a sexy girl image, holding a sign .. and the adsense ads were on that sign .. well, G didn't like that and banned that site

People tried this a year or so ago and am pretty sure the word came back it drew undue attention to the ads.

Examples similar to the ones you posted are online here at DP if you search.

come to think again ... the background surely falls under the "click my ads" category under google adsense TOS
