Ad's Help

Discussion in 'Co-op Advertising Network' started by Cyber-SEO, Mar 30, 2005.

I've got a few questions that I can't seem to figure out on my own. Last time I asked, "how long it takes until the ad's start to get added to the ads txt file" and got a few responses, one from Shawn him self. The answer was that after about 100 hours the ads will start being added to the ads txt file.

Since my ad's were approved and enabled about 9 days ago I haven't seen any of them get added to the ads txt file. I currently have 4 sites running on the co-op ad network, all 4 sites ads txt files are updating perfectly as the date value changes every day and the size of the file increases so other ad's are being added to it.

I'm just trying to figure out if there's anything I'm doing wrong within my ad's. Should I delete all the ad's I currently have running and re-create them?

    Any suggestions are highly appreciated!!

Why would you like to know whether the ads show up in your ad text file? Is that cause you would like to know whether they are rotating in the ads network. If so why dont you use the command link:domainame "keyword"on msn to track down the number of BL's.

If your site has very few visitors (i.e. page refreshes), it could be a long time until your ads appear in your own ads.txt

Rest assured they are showing in the majority though as there are a lot of heavily visited sites in the network.

The best way to check if your ads are showing is to check your backlinks, usually MSN shows up the fastest. Checking in your own ads.txt isn't the most accurate way to tell.

You will probably never see your own ads on your own site or in your own ad file. I would think we are well into the thousands in regards to number of active sites with weight to serve ads. The chances of seeing one out of thousands is very small (unless your weight is extremely large).

If you have weight and your ads are enabled, they will be shown on the network. As those before me suggested, use MSN link; to check your backlinks and you should see some Coop links.

    Hi Guys,

Thanks for the suggestions. I actually have been checking MSN to see if it comes back with any backlinks for the site but was not able to find any at all.

I thought it would be more reliable to check the ads txt file so that's why I only mentioned that one.

With regards to weight, I've got 277,517. I've got 4 sites running on the network so that's probably why my weight is so high.

I've got 12 ad's running within the network and i've applied over 50,000 weight to only one of those ads. I'm guessing that's plenty enough to atleast get noticed within the co-op network.

Has anyone else expreianced anything like this in the past?

Did you enable the ads? I know it is stupid to ask but there have been cases before in which they didnt enable the ads. ;)

I think you will able to see impressions with the new code Shawn released. I can't wait to get that setup.
