I know this happened on the 4th, but all my YPN websites are not showing ads again ... they've been down for about 20-30 minutes so far ... Anyone else having this issue?
Bow .. you don't have anything else to do than watch your ads ah ? Yahoo has been changing their ads algo quite a lot recently and they improved the targeting quiate a bit. I guess they're trying to be competitive with good ad quality .. which is both good for advertisers and publishers ... That's the primary reason why I'm still staying away from the YPN coz' most of the time the ads are quite irrelevant and this can help them improve quite a lot ... and that's my hopes ... otherwise it was just a waist of time to apply for YPN Cheers, Venetsian
It actually isn't the fact that I watch my ads, rather today's "down time" is causing my websites to take about 20-30 times longer to load. It isn't that they are showing blank ads, rather the Yahoo javascript refuses to load.
im having the same problem. extremely slow load times that end up with the ads crashing and the page not finishing its load. stick a fork in me, im done. good luck everyone.
If you want you can use one very simple function on PHP to check if the url loads and that will remove this delay in loading your pages. I did that few times when I had problems with Techoratti ....
"Stick a fork in me". Yeah. All the other problems, and now this. I won't be back unless I see a LOT of posts saying how great YPN has become. I bet it won't happen. They have had plenty of time. Overture didn't help them. I bet YPN will never go "international". If you can't get it right in just English, 20 other languages would be a nightmare for them. No way. I bet that publishers are leaving in herds. Read the posts. YPN simply does not have the "abilities" of Adsense, and proves it daily. 1. Are the YPN software engineers not as bright? 2. Are the YPN marketers unable to get advertisers? 3. Is management wholly inadequate? Or all three? You work your buttisimo off, but your partner can't perform. At some point, you realize that you are wasting your time chasing rainbows, and not income. What is the definition of insanity? Here's one. You continue to do the same things that don't work, and expect different results. I don't think I am insane. Time to move on.
I think I am going surfing with the surf dude as well.. I am getting "BUPKUS" today no ads are displaying and I don't care what yahoo says, this is my livelihood. My wife will beat me with a frying pan if she see's this crap. Time to move back to Adsense..Never thought I would say that but it is time. Yeesh..And it was going so damn good I worked and worked and worked.. Had my best month last month and now this??? I guess yahoo must feel they can just screw everyone and it doesn't matter. Darrell
Here is this morning's thought - The recent YPN ad collapse was a blessing in disguise. Previously, my income from G and Y= $xx. By moving most of my traffic pages back to Adsense, today JUST G = 1.5 times normal $$, at this time of day. So, my previous assumption that I had "optimized" my income appears to be incorrect. I thought that by juggling back-and-forth, I was picking the best of both worlds. Well, for whatever reason in the past, that I switched from Adsense ads to YPN ads, that reason is gone. Without the recent collapse, I never would have known that "an all-G" strategy is now the way to go. For today, anyway.
