Wow ! Aren't I behind the times. This looks great ! Of course I had to poke around the admin before I read the threads on this so I came away with a few questions - I know you're just gathering data Shawn, but here are a few thoughts (I've been working on similar myself of late) I think Webmasters need to choose which categories of ad they'll allow on their sites too rather than just the ads having theme selection options which are matched against a single site sategory. The other thing that strikes me is the need to overflow weight to generic (any) categories where a single category selection for an ad results in only some of the weight being used (ie not enough sites). Either way, glad to see it happening - just wish I could roll mine out before you ! Cheers JL
I know... once we start doing something with the data is when we will see the ability for people to select which languages and categories on a per site basis.
Makes sense Have you decided on a date or wait and see ? Just curious - I know these things take time
Shawn - great idea... great work... very important will be an estimation of the number of sites/domains/pages the links will be placed on... also you will need to find a way to distinguish different themed parts of a page, e.g. a site about - technology - games - management/business could have 3 themes apply to it...
Thanks Shawn... this helps restore my confidence in the network (not that my confidence in the network was ever a concern of yours... LOL).
I saw a post by seo guy on his forum about these changes, so I decided to go ahead and active the network on my forum pages. I look forward to seeing the categorized ads being displayed. I think thats about the only thing that held me back from activating them on my site before. So Ill use my forums as a test and go from there. Nice work to all involved in a very simple, well executed system.
