i really don't quite know, but is it true that an ad at the bottom performs well (if i have one at the top left)? i would think that newcomers would not scroll all the way down to read everything i wrote, and if they decide to come back, again they'll only read the ones at the top, since those are updates. but i heard that putting ads at the botom is good. really?
the adsense blog says they perform well. Look for the hotzone post, I am too lazy to link it to you. Try it.
If you get a decent amount of traffic, you can test your positioning over a few days. My recommendation is one week. What you can do is assign a channel to the bottom ad and watch it. If this ad is replacing a possible better position (above the fold, left column, etc.), you may be better off without it - but testing is the only way you'll know for sure. Why? Because ads not only are subjective to the "heatmap", but to the context and subject as well. For instance, a captivating story that takes the visitor to the end of the page may well have them looking at the bottom banner ad, whereas a page selling vitamins may never see a click in that area. Hope this helps. Kind regards, Dave Jackson Making Money with Contextual Ads
alright, so where at the bottom shld i put it? i am thinking of taking the one at the top middle (just right above the latest post) and putting it at the bottom.
Banner at the bottom is very good for those sites whose visitors read much, because after visitors have read the topic they need to go somewhere and your banner could be the way to go.
