I am working with a site where the ads are completely not oriented with the content. The ads being displayed are soo off-topic that I can't even display the page correctly. I have oriented my keywords/pagedescription/content around the certain theme of ads I want displaying but they are showing something off topic, any suggestions?
Section targetting Keywords in titles and URLs Meta description and keywords A pinch of patience Other tips here Cryo. PS: Make sure that the Adsense Bot (Mediapartners-Google) is not blocked from visiting your site, either with robots.txt or META tags.
ye try section targeting, by putting these around text sections which you'd like to emphaise: <!-- google_ad_section_start --> <!-- google_ad_section_end --> and these around text sections you'd like to de-emphaise: <!-- google_ad_section_start(weight=ignore) --> <!-- google_ad_section_end(weight=ignore) --> I thought you could select which ad's were shown on AdSense anyways if they wern't relevant?
Thanks for the amazing info. awesome stuff! You can block ads, but the ad content coming through is the same, can't nexplain it since there is only one word relating to what is being displayed.
also, if anyone's running phpBB, you'll notice all ads are the same as on most phpBB forums... its something about phpBB that gives JUNK ads..
If you've only recently added AdSense to your site it'll take a while for them to display relevant ads.
Ye once you've added the tags you have to wait for the GoogleBot to come and re-search your website and it's clever self will note down the emphaised and de-emphaised text areas. I'm not sure how often Google Bot goes to websites or if you can ask Google to send it.
