    Oh well, thanks guys!

I'll make sure to let the image go than
but it's such a pity really as it looks great
the way it is right now. I have it on one
    only blog by the way.

    Thank you

Also, not always 4 ads are displayed - sometimes only 1 huge ad. Oh well, i've changed my images to match the bg for now

I was lucky enough to get a warning ( i was using adsenseBeautifier as many of the sites of DP members im sure) to remove my images as this is againts the TOS, and yes there was a thin black line between the images and the ads...

    Waiiit a minute.
It was just 2 days ago that I e-mailed Google regarding this.
And just today I received a response indicating that my site (with images next to ads) currently complies with our program policies.

So what now. I guess I'd better be safe than sorry.
But how would ppl know how to goto http://adsense.blogspot.com/2006/12/ad-and-image-placement-policy.html and read about it.

No, the ad in which you have put headphone picture is not allowed as per new terms.

That's not my website. It's John Chow's, aka Moto in DP. There's some discussion regarding this at his blog at http://www.johnchow.com/the-google-image-trick/

Does it means that I can just put full border (box) around adsense and put images nearby?

Really confuse...and really troublesome because I hardcoded adsense on some of my earlier websites.

    Just to clarify things.

It is now ILLEGAL to have ads next to your Adsense. Blending them in any way in order to deceive user or promote functionality other than that of an advertisement, will now get you a nice email telling you your account has been banned... and there is no going back.:(

After so many rumors spreading about the appropriateness of placing images alongside ads, AdSense Team finally 'set the record straight'. According to the AdSense Blog, AdSense does NOT allow any types of image (no matter they are relevant or not) to be placed next to ads so that visitors believe that the images and the ads are directly associated, or that the advertiser is offering the exact item found in the neighboring image. AdSense said this is not a good experience for users or advertisers. Even if you place a space or a line to separate the two is not allowed. AdSense included some common examples of unacceptable implementations:

Read the original blog post to learn more. For webmasters who are still using the above format, you better start redesign your layout before AdSense comes and ban you.

It should read "images next to your Adsense" and not "ads next to your Adsense"

I agree, I've ended up giving several people clicks by accident thinking it was part of the site I was on.
