That means a lot of work to do to remove all these images... and a huge decrease on CTR :/

    Really bad news:(

Good stuff. This thread should be made a sticky to prevent another 1,000 threads popping up about images next to ads.

This was coming folks over at the google adsense blog they just announced that google adsense with images next to it isn't allowed EVEN if you have a line or a visible border to the images. I got an email earlier this month about this on my sites and I've since taken it down. But I guess now it's official. And you know the advertisers probably complained because this was bringing extra attention to ads. This sucks though my CTR is going to the bottom! What do you think is this fair or what?

    Thank you

well there you have it guys. It's not the end of the world if you have to take your images off...Yes your CTR will fall greatly (mine went from 25% to 1%), but with some time you can have your CTR back up. I got my text based ads back up to around %17-%20.

all adsense threads regarding images BE GONE!!

it doesn't mean you can't use images, you just have to be a little more creative about it. use abstract images, or blocks of colour. although ctr will go down regardless, it'll still give some attention to the ads, and people will still click.
