Hello guys I need your advice on something peculiar. I run a tours company selling travel services to East Africa. Now, i set up Google Adwords campaigns. I separate Campaigns targeting search and those targeting Content network. The ads are set to run the whole day (24hrs) as per the campaign settings. I was hoping to get leads from the US/Europe market but interestingly most of the inquiries i am getting are from Indian regions. Most of them are shopping for discounts and it takes a lot of effort some time before they actually buy from you. Others simply take your offer and give it to another agency to get a better discount. My country is 3.5 hrs behind India (GMT) and i tried to set up the campaigns to show at specific times when in indian subcontinent people are asleep. but i havent had much success in this in getting more leads from USA, Europe, Australia or the Middle East. My Adwords account setting is set up on GMT + 3 hrs. Could this be affecting which nations see my ads and at what time? Any advice on this would be appreciated
Don't try and do geo-targeting by day-parting - it makes as much sense as trying to get your ads shown at certain times by choosing what countries to show them in. i.e. no sense at all. Use the facility to show your ads to the countries you want to target. If you don't want to show to India, then don't.
Hi I tried to target specific countries to show the ads but the ad impressions were terrible. That's why i turned to showing ads in specific time
Well, if all those impressions are showing in India, which you said you don't want, then it's clearly the wrong tactic. Target the countries you want, and find other ways to increase impressions - such as increasing your keyword list, choosing more highly-searched for keywords, or raising your bids.
Magda is saying right thing you should recheck your setting in area to target and traget the country you want.
