Well, finally I've decided to release this little monster. What the hell is ADP? ADP is short for Astanda Directory Project. It is a directory/search/spider engine, written in PHP with MySQL database support. Supports virtually unlimited ammount of links and pages. Powered by Smarty template engine, ADP can run in both dynamic and static modes. Proper full text boolean search with keyword relevance can chew on gigabytes of data. There are too many new features to list them here, but the main are: * Completely search engine friendly. (Google has alreay indexed almost 2000 pages from Astanda.com) * A lot faster web spider. * Build static directories and pages. (optional) * DMOZ data import. (see categories at http://www.astanda.com ) * Good -looking, almost unbreakable Captcha. (see below) * ADP can run as both directory and web spider, as directory alone, or as web spider alone. * and whole lot more. Download link: http://www.astanda.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=151 [edit] Completely forgot about Admin demo: http://www.astanda.com/adp/admin/index.php user: demo pass: demo [/edit]
First impression.. seems promising.. Any demo for admin.. Would like to know, if it can be configured to accept payment for different kind of listings.. Also, it would be great if you can explain how this web spider thing work..
I've edited my first post with a link to Admin demo. The payment system has not yet been implemented, but its coming. Most important things first, my "to do" list is still huge
Nice. I think you should put the payment first in your to do list, since it is an important aspect to monetize directory.
I was also curious. I noticed you are a Moderator at the Esyndicat forums AND a directory script developer (looking good so far). I wasn't sure if you are part of Esyndicat or a competitor. I hope you don't mind my asking.
I've quit being a Moderator at eSyndiCat couple of months ago. My title still says "Moderator", but thats about it. I dont feel myself as a competitor to anyone as I've never asked for any monetary reward for ADP. ADP is released as fully functional Shareware, without any limitations.
looks nice. Will give it a test drive. I'll also repeat what other posters have said that a payment system is very necessary to make this directory successful.
