The above is a mail received by everyone of many mobile advertisers and publishers registered with admob. This topic isn't exactly about detailing the acquisition but rather an analysis on the acquisition of mobile giant Admob by the global and general giant Google

Admob was an entrepreneur venture by this guy called Omar and it kicked started really well somewhere in 2005, there weren't too many mobile sites at that time. The mobility revolution had just kick-started and the only big competitor they had was bango. Admob as a result did really well. It enjoyed a certain monopoly with the type of mobile chat sites, just as google adsense is ruthless against cheaters, admob too was strict in curbing fraud clicks. They became so ruthless that one or the other high traffic mobile site would get banned by them. The situation has culminated in admob banning almost every site which earns more than 100 USD per month (source admobsucks.com). Not everybody is giving out bad reviews against admob but those who have been associated with it for too long have literally started pouring in hatred. The acquisition is timed when the popularity charts of admob are pointing downwards. Am not being cynical here but this acquisition has really generated mixed response from the people who have been a part of the admob advertisement publishing network. Google has been known to govern its systems really well, and the mobile publishers are hoping that the kind of goof-ups (even if rare ) made by admob are not repeated. Googles mobile advertising no doubt has not been the top raker but we mobile site developers are looking at this acquisition with great hopes.
