Hi, I just started using AdLogger and have noticed that so far, in the last 7 hours or so Ive had visitors clicking on multiple ads. One person clicked on 4 within a space of a minute. If youve had experience with AdLogger I was wondering what setting you put the "A visitor can click a maximum of * per * hours" setting. Right now Ive put it on max of 5 ad clicks in 3 hours per visitor. Is this too much / little? Any advice is appreciated. Thanks
i have 3 clicks in one hour - thats more than enough for a regular human being for the size & content of my site. However, if you have a big site, good content and contextually related ad's showing you may want to give it more, especially if your CTR is high anyway
Thanks for your reply .bmp Its pretty hard to think of a good limiter coz this is a comprimise between stopping click attacks and maximising your earnings. Ive been watching my visitors closely since installing the AdLogger (its great!) and there are quite a few that click on 3~4 ads. I suppose you probably dont need to worry about reducing it that much though, as my site hasnt received any problems even without the limiter. (did that make sense?!?!)
makes sense man - the thing is, you could probably turn off the limit all together - keep a keen eye on the stats daily and report anything you think that looks like a click attack /fraud direct to the adsense team, give them the ip details etc
i got 14 per hour from 2 or 3 ip's but its first day for me to use adlogger so i will know if this is normal or not i also made it for 5 clicks every 2 hours
keep in mind that one of the drawbacks of Adlogger is that it counts a MOUSEOVER an ad as a click.. it also counts right-clicks. so many of those clicks are probably false-positives..
i set to 3 clicks/hr but i found some one clicking more than 7 clicks with in an hour it doesn't work
Are you serious about this mouseover = click in adlogger??? I'll double check it coz if its true thats so inaccurate...
is adlogger safe ? some ppl are complaining of getting banned from using this script. http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=107358&highlight=adlogger
