I love free software. This is pretty good except it registers clicks that aren't counted in google and doesn't register some that are(unique ips) lol so that is kinda strange but it works well for identifying when someone is out to get ya.

I'm a beginner to all this, so forgive my ignorance, but I read that AdLogger won't combat click-fraud on HTML pages. If this is the case, what type of pages is everyone using that AdLogger works on?

I am designing my site in HTML, so I'm rather disappointed to read that AdLogger will be of no use.

Thanks for your reply Tech Entrance.

Sussane, I read just now (somewhere!) that you can't use Adlogger on Blogger. I was wondering about the same thing.

I just saw it mentioned that you can use it on WordPress though. Here's a link that may be of some use:

http: //www. adlogger.org/ forum/ showthread.php?p=1307 (I'm not allowed to post live links for some reason, so I've added spaces to get it to post the link)

    Tech Entrance

Without asking you to spend ages typing a reply for me, is putting my HTML in a PHP page a straight-forward measure that can be done via some sort of existing system, or am I going to have learn about database-driven sites and build everything myself, plus do my website completely differently?

    Thanks :)

I just installed adlogger this morning. It is showing about three to four times as many clicks that are being shown in my Adsense reports. Any ideas as to what might be the cause?

Apparently Adlogger doesn't count mouse-overs. This is from their FAQ:

'I heard AdLogger counts a mouseover as a click. Is this true?

No, it’s not true. AdLogger has to make an estimate of when the visitor clicks an ad. If you didn’t read the answer to the previous question, it does this by logging the visitor’s mouse position whenever they leave the page. If their mouse is over an AdSense advertisment, it counts that as a click. There are of course inherent problems with that method, but it is the best known way of doing it. A mouseover by itself is not enough to trigger AdLogger into thinking there was a click.'

And regarding the discrepancy in clicks reported:

'AdLogger reports a click but I don’t see it in my Google AdSense account. Why not? Is Google ripping me off!?

No, Google is not ripping you off. AdLogger does its best to determine when a click is made on your web page. But because there’s no Google AdSense API that allows you to login to your official AdSense logs and get the exact same stats that Google gets about your website, it’s impossible to be 100% accurate. AdLogger has to estimate when a click occurs on your AdSense ads. Because of this, there will always be some discrepencies in the click counts. Also, be sure to read the other questions, as a lot of them revolve around this point, too.

Trust Google and don’t write them any angry letters.'

I *believe* adlogger works fine in MSIE, but in FF it does count mouseovers and right clicks.
