AdLogger - Multiple Click Alert - From me!

Discussion in 'Reporting & Stats' started by wmburg, Jul 14, 2006.

I installed AdLogger about a week ago. I just got an email notifying me of a multiple click. The Visitor IP address is me! I got one of these the other day. I am 99% sure that I didn't click on any of my ads though. I did add a new link unit though. I'm not sure what is going on.

    Has anyone else experienced this?

Im almost willing to bet it is either a friend or someone in your family trying to help you out...My memory may be off but didn't you get some type of warning from Google about invalid clicks?

Maybe you are now getting as clue why

No one in my family knows my URLs. Nope I've never received any warnings from Google.

Sometimes the script gets it wrong.

    Nothing to worry about.

do you have a forum? i have the same probably in my forum. I am still not sure what happens, bc i never get redirecting to the site i click on, but my ads are really close to the reply buttons and navigation bar, so its possible to happen on accident, but im not sure!

I get that every now and then if I am refreshing the same page numerous times. Usually, I got it on my admin panel page.

Don't worry.. if you didn't click you didn't click. Adlogger is weird.

Remember that AdLogger doesn't actually track clicks, it tracks time spent with your mouse cursor over the ad, and based on that time tries to predict that a click has/will have taken place. So if you happened to accidentally leave your mouse over an adblock for a while, it can trigger the alert... or at least, that is how I have understood it so far.

Hehe, thanks :) I could be wrong, but that is what it looked like from my analysis of the javascript. I'll take another look as well, though, and let you know if I find out anything else :)
