Adjusting for more clicks and higher pay

I've been wondering how to optimize ads. Please comment on this scenario, to help me learn:

    Let's say I have a page with 1 x link advert (L1) and 3 x proper adverts (B1, B2, B3).
I place L1 at top, left.
    I place B1 centered, top.
B2 goes centered, half way down.
    B3 goes centered, bottom.

L1 + B1 gets most clicks and typically also have the highest pay per click (due to advertisers buying into these well placed ads and paying more per click... yes?).

    Question: If I remove B2 + B3 completely, will I get:
    - More clicks on L1 and B1?
    - Higher pay per click on L1 and B1? (due to less competition).

Another way of asking: Will fewer ads per page attract more total clicks and will each click then pay more?

NO, read my article on that for more details on this strategy and what conditions it requires to work.
