Hi, In Adwords, We can specific Max. CPC in Adgroup Level and for each keyword in the adgroup. Is it slightly confusing. My question is 1. Why is it so? 2. Why Max. CPC we have to set and Which one is good for setting (in the Adgroup level CPC is good or Keyword Level CPC? Please Help! Regards Ramki
Setting a Max CPC allows you to determine how much you pay, you don't want to be paying $10 a click! Settnig the Keyword Max CPC allows certain keywords in an adgroup to cost more without making the other keywords cost as much. I use Keyword Max CPC to boost an estimated ad position from 7-10/4-6. Hope that helped and was all correct.
Start by setting your adgroup cpc, then adjust on keyword basis after you are able to see impressions, average positions, and what it is costing you per click on each keyword. Once you are able to start seeing impressions, AdWords should start showing you you average position on each keyword based on your bid. You'll notice some keywords may be in position 15.1, while others may be in the average position of 2.9. This is when you start adjusting the cpc of the individual keywords. For those in the second page position (10 +), up their bids conservatively in order to at least get them on the first page. Always be checking conversion rates, or you will be and lost in a sea of campaign confusion and lost in a sea of campaign confusion based on bad assumptions. Many times what you may think is true, is actually just the opposite.
