This is just my experience with adengage as of this week:

I decided to give them a try and bought some ads, and tonight was when they were set to start running. Out of curiosity i checked their traffic stat claims, and i found that they were lying. The sites i purchased reportedly have 75% US traffic, but checking in third parties(alexa) told me they have 80% German traffic. This only leads me to believe the number of expected clicks/impressions is simply a lie. I am kind of new to advertising, only been in it a few months so if there is some reason i could be misreading something please point it out. I bought ad's on multiple sites, all turned out to have fake traffic stats. US traffic was reported consistently at 80 on the sites i bought but when checked was really < 20.

anyways this is only personal experience with 1 purchase, but maybe a important reason not to use adengage.

I used this place at first but honestly now that I have moved on to adsense ad engage was just blah! It has good stats keeping if it was accurate its got a cool set up. But its not managed very well. The fees for when people buy links on your site is high disliked that as well.

Yup it's junk traffic, mostly China, Egypt and Vietnam - generally an adult traffic supplier.

I have been very successful advertising and publishing with AdEngage. I think I can clear some things up.

The first thing I see is that you are using Alexa as a statistics provider. That is a big mistake. Alexa only counts people that visit your site if they have the Alexa toolbar installed. You can add their widget to your site to count even more of your visits but it is still pretty inaccurate. All that means is that 80% of the visitors with the Alexa Toolbar installed that came to your site in that time were from Germany. They might have only counted 20 out of 500 visits though.

The estimated clicks are actually the average number of clicks each ad in the sites ad pool gets per week. So if the site allows a maximum of 4 ads to be in the rotation and the site gets 400 total clicks per week. Then 400 / 4 = 100 estimated clicks are shown an the sites sales page.

If your ad is much less appealing or not as targeted to the visitors as the other ads on the site then you will get a lot less clicks than estimated.

I used them for 2 months and no real results at all so I stopped using them. I just look at numbers and traffic and decide if it's worth the money. For me it wasn't but for others maybe. perhaps it just depends on the site.

Ive used adengage for over two years now and ive never had a problem with them. I have bought and sold many adds, and their statistics are pretty accurate. You just have to keep your eyes open when you are buying from sites. Check the site out before you buy any links etc and you should be ok.

What you have to do is choose your sites that you want to advertise on wisely. Many are not that good and some send very poor traffic. But I also have had an alright experience with a few sites, but still don't really use them that much now.

Also, Adengage stats are past stats only and not what you will receive, but more what you may receive if the websites you advertise on have the same / similar visitors as the month before. This normally changes depending on where the site owner advertises their site. Alexa is not 100% quality either when it comes to stats.
