Additonal Ideas for my Site

I have had this site for nearly 3 years its got over 8000 posts and nearly 700 members who post regular. Its a real niche community and is focused on trying to replicate takeaway curry at home.

Eveyone who joins loves the site. What i am looking for now is to try and take it to the next level and would like ideas on how to make some revenue from the site. I had adsense for a while (min revenue) but google stopped it.

From what i read everyone is of the opinion a Niche, established websites gives the best result.....does mine fit in this category?

Wow, what a spectacular looking site, particulary the front page. It's really a nice way to enter the site.

So, what about monetizing with clickbank? They got lots of cookbooks in ebook format and they even have some on indian curry and so forth? You could figure out a way to have all sorts of links throughout your forum.

Also, what about adbrite.com as a replacement for google? With such a long established site, you're sure to find advertisers to advertise on your site.

Gorgeous home page! I guess one of the reasons Google didn't like your site are those (annoying) pop-up pages to sites that are completely off-message so far as your niche is concerned and can do you no good at all... You absolutely MUST get some Google PR for the main forum pages.

I would lose ALL the links to pop-up advert pages and use the links at the footer to take people to REAL internal content related to your niche. You have actually put up a barrier to both SE robots and people with these irrelevant adverts. When I click a link in the footer to "Madras Curry Recipe" I am mightily ****ed off at being presented with a business opportunity/scrapbook/off-topic page!

Lose the outbound links to google, MSN, etc - they offer no value to you and just take visitors OFF your site!

You MUST add a sitemap to the homepage so the 'bots can spider the entire site - at the moment they have never got past the home page, being obstructed by some irrelevant pop-page at every turn.

    That'll do for a start!

I agree with OnlyTopResults that you need add a sitemap. I think that will really help you a lot. Of course this is not a monetizing idea but at least it will help with bringing more traffic to the site.

I feel something in ma stomach watching the Home Page ;)

The bad things about the site

To Much Pop Ups won't appreciate people to come again
The inside pages aren't as attractive as the Home Page

Get a mod done were you have a bunch of spices, ingridences ect.. and they can press a "mix me a dish" or they can press out serval pices of the database and press "make my dish" And a recipie comes out, even as a print friendly one if wanted.
It could also suggest some other similar recipies who has some of those spices ect into it.

This should be a easy programming - and a fun "machine" for your users

    Hi

I have added a sitemap to my site

    www.cr0.co.uk/sitemap.html
Also added the html links into the index page, hopefully this will get me some more hits.

I really want to increase my page rank, should i do a links.html page or just keep adding recipricol links to the homepage
