Additional Indexing Search Engines

Which other Search Engines organically index sites through use of web crawlers? Which ones have the largest indexes and are best for indexing purposes? We have clients at our SEO agency that want to be indexed across a variety of locations and I'm not sure where to start with unconventional options.

There are many search engines so each of them can index your site and normally google will index your page, while bing can also, and other search engines. Be wise on which the best search engine you want to be indexed.

I had a tool that tracked search engine visits and I attempted to identify each - not all identify themselves properly. You'll be staggered by how many private bots will be accessing your site, some are experimental, but what are the others being used for? Assume all are visiting and decide which ones you care about and focus on them.

Yandex.ru is a Russian search engine provider. They launched an English domain with Yandex.com a few years ago to step into English language search results. They have a webmaster tools in English and I've submitted my sitemap there - webmaster.yandex.com. I know my site has been indexed as I can find it on Yandex.com's search results. However, whereas I get pretty consistent traffic from Google and Bing, I've yet to see any traffic from Yandex. That's probably in large part due to the fact that where I have pages that rank well in Google or Bing, those same pages don't rank on Yandex.

Baidu would also be a great place to get listed if you have a Chinese presence, though I heard they require a Chinese phone number for approval. Arguably, if you have any business marketing to Chinese individuals, you should put your priority on Baidu over Google.

Honestly, you really only need to focus on Google Webmaster Tools and Bing Webmaster Tools because the vast majority of other search engines (like Duck Duck Go for instance) use meta search results - that is they aggregate their search results from Bing or Google. Most of these sites are able to attract certain demographics of individuals away from Google, while simultaneously using Google search results, by focusing on a privacy first approach that limits the amount of information they extract from the user during a search and how long that information is held.

The only other route would be to submit to only directories and bookmarking sites (Pinterest, Mix, etc).

From all other smaller engines that crawl and index websites that you can submit your domain or could I just googled small list in random order:

    http://www.bigfinder.de
    https://www.unbubble.eu
    https://metager.de/
    https://www.qwant.com
    https://www.sphider.net
    https://www.etools.ch
    https://www.unbubble.eu
    https://www.mojeek.de
    https://www.exalead.com/search/web/
[Edit] http://gigablast.com [\Edit] quite old and still online

    And as mentioned above
    https://yandex.com

There are plenty engines out there with google or bing data syndycation so what google or bing indexes it's already on those as well.

I'm sure that there are more, can't say it's worth the time.

Most other search engines will automatically find your website. No additional steps needed. DuckDuckgo and Yandex are popular after google and bing.

There are so many other bots which will come like ArifBot etc. I block these using .htaccess because they use bandwidth and do not provide anything useful.

Google is the first search engine that comes to mind regarding all things indexing. It not only has the most diverse indexing data but fulfills many important indexing purposes as well.
