adding wordpress 3.0 menus to a theme not built with it

hi, i'm building a site using the Neutralis theme which I found under the Install Themes tab of WordPress.

I was expecting that the theme would employ the new menu functionality available with wordpress 3.0, but apparently not. How do I install the new menu functionality into the theme so I can manage the menu from the Dashboard>Appearance>Menus page???

please advise. thanks in advance!

i wanted to replace the existing menu, but i learned how. just had to add the function
