Has anyone tried adding target=”_blank” to affiliate links, so the links will open in a new window? If so, have you had any issues? I like leaving a winow open with my main site in it, so it makes it easier for people to return.

Personally, i always add target=”_blank” to affiliate links. But your best bet is to split testing to see which one gives you the best results.

I believe it's good practice to use a new blank window for affiliate links, especially if you're talking about a lot of them. I don't think people would enjoy clicking the back button over and over again to continue browsing your site.

i also add target='_blank' because it allows the visitors to keep moving from one page to another within my website.

There's no problem at all, it's the same with normal link without target="_blank".
