Hi Guys I have a blog which is doing rather well for a specific content [ Windows Mobile ] and want to add iPhone and Android content to the site. I was thinking would it be better to get a new domain for it or since I have a site which is doing well with a related content, would it be better to just add subdomains for the site. Is there any SEO benefit transferred to the subdomains ? mysite.com = Windows Mobile content android.mysite.com = android content iphone.mysite.com = iPhone content I am running wordpress with the main site. If I want to get wordpress with the subdomain, should i install a separate wordress ( plugins and themes ) for each of those subdomians ?or is there an easier way ?
What you plan on doing with the subdomains sounds fine. It's even better since the subdomain will be named in accordance to what people search for to find that content on your site. As for worpdress, yes, each one will need it's own install on the subdomain IF you plan on having a different design and content appear. I think there's a way to use one wordpress install for several subdomains. At the very least you'll be able to use the same database, but with a different prefix for the table names. But I believe it's a little bit of a hack to get that working, at least that was the case with older versions.
