Go to Menus and Choose where do you want to add menu (Mainmenu, Top Menu).
After select you want to add the pages (Articles, Components, etc).

well, if you wanted to add new articles then that is thru

content --> article manager --> new

you get default wyswyg editor and start posting new articles !
after completing the article , click on apply tab to save the page

Will these pages be assigned to the menus on the relevent pages
ie if on my home pages I have a menu
    1
    2
    3
And add another page which would be 4
    would the menu show
    1
    2
    3
    4
would it generate the menu to add this page automatically

^ well, that depends on how you set the front page articles..

go to frontpage thru menus -> main menu OR top menu ; look at the right
side ; there are different parameters to set how you like frontpage's display

Just open the Article manager and add some article then you've got your page already.

First create the page as an article, then assign it to section and then category.

i fill that joomla will generate number page automatically if your setting is right.. Ex: in Main Menu >> Home, if you change your setting become Front Page Blog Layout Type so automatically joomla makes number page if under page of joomla's site

Install a local host to your comp. Than do an installation of joomla. Then start working in joomla for a couples of days and you will know everything to do. It's really easy to make everything you want you just need to figure out what is module, what is component, what is plugin, what is menu and how it works. Try to change position and change default options and look what will happen. You can always check the module position of your template if you put the ?tp=2 on the onf the URL For example www.yoursite.com/?tp=2
The easiest way to learn joomla is working in joomla. For any questions you can always check joomla.org or a millions other sites which provides a joomla tutorials.
