I have several ecommerce sites that rank pretty well for the keywords that Ive targeted. Ive added new products in new categories on two sites recently and neither category is getting any love from Google. I built a few links to the categories when I added them. One has very low competition. Is there a particular process to this that would get better results?
If Google likes your site and your other pages and categories, your new ones should be fine, but you have to help them find the new stuff first. Build several internal links on your site from existing categories to each of the new ones, that will help some, and be sure the new stuff shows on your sitemaps. Then backlinks and a little patience.
