When adding negatives at Campaign-level im a bit unsure of which match type i should be adding them as. Currently im adding them as negative broad. Im not 100% on this yet but if i wanna keep folks out searching job, recruitment, vacancies i should be adding them as negative exact? Or maybe as both negative exact and negative phrase? Will be glad of any advice on this.
Hi Pipes, Broad generally covers everything in the negative side of things and it is all we use for our clients. But if you want to be double sure then try both phrase and broad, it won't hurt the account.
Exactly, Broad should cover it, but you can add them as both anyway. If you don't use editor then here is a quick tool that might save you some time: http://tools.seobook.com/ppc-ad-wrapper/
i would agree that broad should cover everything, since it will not show your ad for *any* search done with that one negative keyword. so if you don't want people finding your ad who are searching "popular jobs," "jobs site," and "yahoo jobs," then -jobs should do the trick. i add negatives at the ad group level only when those kw's appear in my other other ad groups.
