For example, I have a 5 page website. The index page has a page rank of 5. Then what if i added 200 pages more to my site? Do you think it dilutes my index page rank of 5?

No, CNN would be without a pagerank if that was the case.

If any of the additional 200 pages are either linked from or link back to the index page (or, as is more common, both) it will alter the PageRank of the index page. How much the true PR changes and whether this results in a change to the toolbar PR will depend on the linking structure used.

It may be worth playing around with a PageRank Calculator to determine the likely impact of different linking structures for the additional pages.

Links from the index page (HP) to your interrior pages will not effect it's pagerank in any way. Links from your interrior pages to your HP will help to increase / reinforce it's pagerank.

Adding 200 pages (if they are unique and contain enough content) will most likely help in all aspects of SEO.

    Hm. Interesting question.
Here are my thoughts, completely different from all the other posters:
Lets say the front-page has a bunch of inbound links and the other pages have none. The front-page can then pass pagerank to the lower pages, but the more of them you have and link, the less pagerank each of them receives.
The PR of the front-page should not change, but each of the lower pages will have less PR will it not?
