Adding more keywords in page title - will this affect my rankings in google?

Hi guys, I need your help again.

I have this page that has very good rankings for the 5 keywords in its title tag and combinations of these keyowords. However I want to add more keywords (6 more) to the title tag, I optimized the content for these keywords.

What do you think will happen?

1.Will my G rankings drop for the current keywords? Do you believe in the dilution story?

2. Although I got thousands of backlinks to this page, most of the traffic comes from the 5 keywords searches and combs of these keywords. To me this proves once again that page title is the no1 SEO factor. Do you think adding more keywords will help?

q1 -> no wrong in adding few more keywords to the title..

 

Adding keywords on your title will surely affect your ranking but as long as you maintain the right optimization on each keywords you can get better ranking on your new keywords and improved the rankings of your old keywords.

Adding "student loan consolidation" on a myspace resource site, will throw you out of index

 

I agree about relevancy, but you also want to make sure you don't add too may keywords and dilute their independent value. I think by keeping the number of keywords low, you increase their value and ranking power.
