    Hello,

I want to start a free template download site. I was wondering whether it is legal to add some more information on the footer links of the free themes?

i want to add "downloaded from mysite.com" alongwith the original copyrights, i.e."theme by xxx". is that allowed? I wont be making any changes to the original copyrights. But i'll make every theme adsense enabled and then put up for download.

    Should i go for it?

most providers wont care as long as you dont change copyright lines but just adding
"downlaoded from" - its just the same as adding contents after downloading a free template.

It'd be best to check with creators of these templates first. They might not even want their templates to be available to download apart from on their site.

No i will be taking only those templates which are available in free theme download sites as well, other than the author's site. I am pretty much sure it's legal.
