what do you guys think of adding your link to wikipedia pages related to your site/blog. Every wikipedia page has a spot at the bottom for links, do you think it would be a good idea to post your link there?
Yeah, you can, but you need to have good relation with their editor. Also you must provide correction on things that they haven't put in. Wikipedia's backlink is good quality, but it will be difficult.
Those links are mostly no follow so there's little to no link building value doing that. However, its a great way to drive targeted visitors to your site.
Wikipedia is definitely a good link source. Just make sure that you actually have good content on your site or they will quickly delete your link. I currently get hundreds of visitors every month to one of my sites just from one wikipedia page. It's true that they are nofollow, but the traffic you can get pretty much trumps that.
Yes, it's a good idea if your site isn't yet monetized. Create a site then write an article with your site link for wikipedia. Then you can monetize your site. Wiki will drive good traffic to your site.
yes, it would be a VERY good idea given that you can manage to get your links in there. wikipedia will not accept any commercial sites as reference. even if you manage to get it there somehow, other editors will more than likely remove the commercial link. unless you have a non commercial informative site, i wouldn't even bother with wikipedia
I think it will be hard to get a backlink from wikipedia because they are strict when it comes to commercial link. I would suggest to go for ezine instead of wiki as it's easier.
That is a great idea! but I must warn that wikipedia editors spect you to provide something of value. Wikipedia links are definitely nofollow, but many websites scrape the content along with all external links. so in this way you may get a good link.
It is good to get targeted traffic if you are able to add your link into wikipedia However, wikipedia link are nofollow
Yes you can get link from wikipedia. But you can not directly submit link there, before submitting link you have to go to the "discussion" first and add some valuable information on the discussion. There after you can try for add link to the wikipedia. Again wikipedia links are nofollow, so I think the link does not pass the link juice to your site.
It has really much value if you could get backlink from wikipedia just how u get it? They are so strict to the rule and never give any backlinks easily.
That's a great site for all of us. So we should keep that site fit. So we should not try to get backlink just to get backlink we should do it if it's highly relevant. And link from that site is nofollow.
I had a link there for a couple years when it was just getting popular. It didnt send much traffic, but I am pretty sure it helped a bunch with my SEO efforts. No idea when it was removed.
I think this have no worth execpt giving you little traffic. Also Wiki admin rarely accept your link, they remove it mostly
