Adding Google Analytics to my forum

I own a phpbb forum and I was want to add the google analytics code to my forum. Can anyone tell me where should I add it. I added it in the index.htm file (which was empty) in my styles/<applied_style>/ folder. Is is where I add it? Or do I have to add it in the index.php file in the root directory of the forum?

What you showed is adding google adsense. I want to know about analytics.

 

may be you should use analytics code in index file because i create a forum and their is option to integrate google analytics code in it so dont know about it

 

Index means which one? Index.php or Index.htm?

 

it said adsense but you just replace it with analytics. put code in the overall_header.html
