    Hi,

I've a travel website (one in my sig) and I'm starting to find it harder and harder to add fresh content. I was wondering if anyone could give me some suggestions on what to do.

I know content is king but I can't think on what to add to save my life :)

    Cheers

Why not visit the multitude of free article sites and search for any articles that match your theme. Your design is so different that there should be no risk of dup content whatsoever and I'm sure you could probably find 100s of suitable pieces to add to your site.

Just remember to keep the author's boxes intact. Even though this may lead to a few visitors leaving your site, it is likely to attract far more in the first place if you optimise your pages well.

I have been reluctant to use reprint articles on my site fearing the duplicate content penalty. Does anyone have any suggestions on how someone can use these articles, without setting off these filters while maintaining the author's box. I really just don't understand how the dup content penalty works and what sets it off.

I had thought about busting some articles up over 2 or 3 pages (if the material was long enough). But again I wasn't sure if it is acceptable to do this?

I quite like your site layout. I don't think you get that bad of a duplicate penalty unless you copy the whole page? Not sure?

the difference fresh content and new content:

fresh content - update existing pages to make them fresh
new content - create new pages for new content

You already have a review section, but how expanding that section to include more information, pricing, features etc.

A city guide. What cities are there on Lanzarote? Anything worthwhile visiting in these cities?

How about beaches. Allthough I've never been there. They must have some great beaches there?

Laws. Is there anything you need to know. Differences between laws in country [x] and Lanzarote?

Customs. Do they have any noticable, funny, interesting customs?

Sure there must be more than 6 trips you can take on Lanzarote?

How about the history of Lanzarote?

    Alpha5th,

    Great suggestions.

I do want to try and keep the content in and around Puerto Del Carmen which I think is my problem.

My goal; I have this webby just for Puerto Del Carmen.

There are only 3 main resorts in Lanzarote so I'm creating 3 different sites for each (all review sites) and creating 1 site for Lanzarote as a whole.

I will be adding more to the reviews such as prices and pictures (this is going to take for ever though so a long process)

The beaches I can add (going there today for some pictures) but if I create information on Law/Customs/trips which are outside of PDC then I'll end up repeating the content on the other sites.

Shoemoney; as a programmer I would say adverage (as a honest responce) :)

Thanks for the comments so far, gives me something to think about.

Just thought about a couple more things.

How about shops? Any intersting shops in or around Puerto Del Carmen?

The regular tourist attractions are fine, but what about things tourists usually don't see.

Alternative vacations. Maybe some would like to explore on there own. Some may be into architecture, marine life, animal life etc.

Active vacations say sailing, scuba diving, hiking, sports etc.

And what about a disabled persons perspective ie wheelchair users, young persons 18-30, parents with small children and the older traveler!!

I havent really looked at your site in detail but have you got a photograph gallery of the areas?
