Adding Forum on a Website (Please Guide)

I want to add a forum on my website so please tell me how a forum is helpful in increasing the traffic of a website.

Secondly, how to promote a forum?

It's helpful because it will lead to repeat visitors. (as your site will be "sticky")

As for promotion, there are a ton of methods and tons of articles about it.

One thing to remember is you need traffic to support a forum. A dead forum reflects bad on a website.

 

If you are selling a product it also gives buyers a chance to review your service to others.

 

if your sites no enough visitor for everyday, it is no need a forum,
with a forum you need more effort to manage it. a lot of spaming

Forum is a good features for the site that got lots of traffic already. Without traffic, your forum will grow slow and it will make a bad impression to your main site. (they will think this site is not useful because not so many people online) so make sure you have lots of traffic first.
