Adding content to my site- more content-more links

I am confused as always. Granted I need to add new quality, relevant links to my site.
Granted I need to add new content to my site.
I hope you can help me with this. In adding new content to my site I need to add backlinks to those pages-right? The more content I add, the more links I need? In terms of adding new content is it better/worse or the same to
    1. add a few pages per day of new content/articles/products to my site or
add a lot of content all at one time and less times per week. In effect does google weigh additional content differantly as to how often/how much is added? Or does it even matter?

I don't think the content as anything to do with links.

If you use a wordpress blog on your domain, you can do this once you are happy with your site. Just blog and add links to your site, if the sitempa for the blog is indexed in google so will the links and they will link back to your domain.

not necessarily, if you have enough links to your home page google will index and give good serp position to all sub pages including newly added, you can add links to specific sub pages I always do that when the sub page doesn't rank well for on page factors only

More content is not always better. Quality over quantity applies here if you ask me...

IMHO, it is best to add your new content gradually then all at once. By the way, I think you can also update existing pages to improve your ranking, and not just add new web site pages.

Content doesn't have anything to do with backlinks. You are mixing up two things
