Adding Categories Delays/Hangs @ phpld 3.1 ?

If you have many categories say 1000+ how would you add in case of phpld3.1?
I have many problems because the page takes many seconds to load after a single category is added.
Do you have any easy solution to add categories easily or faster because this way its like i would take ages to even add 500 categories.
    Waiting for some tips

you could write some SQL to inject into the table, right? Assume you have the name of the category ready.

There is also a Subcategory Quick Add mod for 3.1. After you add all those subcategories, you can change their parent to top or whatever category you wanted.

    It's the fastest solution.

If you're looking to add each cat/subcat manually, you can set the admin to display a single category and it won't take so long for the page to reload every time you add a cat/subcat.

System >> Edit Settings >> Admin Area:

    Links per page: 1

I may have misunderstood your original question a bit, not sure if the suggestion will help with what you're trying to accomplish. ;)

amit contact an0n im sure he can get it back providing you had a copy of the database which your supposed to always copy before doing any changes that can hurt or cripple your directory. the back up....

I dont mess with 3.1 as i really like 3.6 and have yet to have any problems...

    thx

I still want you to do what we spoke about yesterday so a version code check can done on the already existing db, so we'll knwo as to whether or not it is a 3.1 bug or your database just got completely screwed up with that POS MOD.

If your talking about the Quick add catergory mod,..Nothing wrong with it, I use it on all 4 of 3.10 works just fine.

If you have a database save, then it should not be a problem getting all of your settings back.

    You are incorrect.

There is a check that was needed to be put in place. I gave David the code and it should have been implemented in the MOD as of 3-4 days ago.
