Adding an Image description after posting image

    Hi,

I have post 100's of images in my wordpress site but when I change the image description in the media library from the dashboard it does not update the image on the site unless I remove the image and re-insert it.

Also after I have inserted the image and then click on the image again I can not access the description option?

I have added alt text and titles to all my images but want to also add a description to help with SEO.

Can someone explain the best way to edit / add the descriptions?

    Thanks

This should work the way that you've tried to do it. What you are describing seems like some kind of flash or Java conflict that is not allowing your installation to function properly. Make sure that you are running the latest version of your browser, flash and js. on your computer.

It could also be your theme, a plug in or something with your installation.
My advice is to make sure that you are running the latest version of EVERYTHING and try again.

Then go through your plug ins one by one to see if any of them is causing a conflict (start with any image or gallery plug ins that you may be running) .

Also insure that you are running plug ins ( and your theme) that has been updated recently. There are still some out there that haven't been touched in months or even years that don't play well with others.

Theme is Jet with 5 Widgets/plug ins
    1. Shop Integrator Ecommerce Connector (payment gateway)
    2. Hello Dolly (not sure what this is?)
    3. EZPZ One Click Backup
    4. All in One SEO Pack
    5. Akismet (I don't allow comments so not sure I I need this?)
    I am using WordPress 2.9.1.

We are on Wordpress 3.3.1 now. There were some MAJOR updates on Wordpress 3.0 that changed the way Wordpress operates. You really need to update.
I suspect that your theme is also from the "before Wordpress 3.0" days and MAY have some problems running on 3.0 and above, as well as SOME of your plug ins which cannot be up to date if you are running such an old version of Wordpress. (All In One SEO, and Akismet are always updated)

Basically, you are running old stuff, so it's hard to help you troubleshoot what the problem may be. I don't even remember problems from 2.9 anymore.
Updating to the latest version is usually always the first step in troubleshooting.

Back up first. Back up first. Back up first.

Hello Dolly is just a plug in that posts lyrics from the song in your dashboard (Wordpress releases are based on Jazz Innovators and artists) . It has no other function. It's just a fun thing they include in the installation.
