Hey guys, I've added as a free tool to my readers, an .exe file zipped, but what I thought would be a nice add, didn't result in much excitement. I think one of the reasons is the fact that people might think it's a virus. Would you download an .exe file from a blog?
If it was a known and trusted blog and a download was appropriate then yes, but generally I wouldn't trust any executable from an unknown source.
Me personally i would if it was a blog i visited often, After all it aint that hard to get rid of virus's
Yes of course... if it was a blog I frequented and trust. Certainly not from a site offering to sell something to make my unit bigger or with tons of popup/unders. I offer a complimentary program for download from my blog and it's gone over fairly well.
Exif Harvester has been extremely popular. Have a look at the page ( and site ) it appears on. Taking the time to present it as something of quality and explain its use seems to have alleviated most peoples' worries about spyware. Also, it's very useful and targeted to digital photographers, so it generates a lot of its own interest.
