I want to add a social security number to my PayPal account for 2 reasons: so I can lift the monthly $500 withdrawl limit, and so I can invest in the PayPal Money Market Fund. Becuase I don't have a Social Security number, is my dad allowed to use his. The PayPal account is in my name. I am just wondering if this will raise any flags for PayPal as the social security number and PayPal account belong to different people.

Well, it should raise some red flags as if I am not wrong, SSN cannot be shared. If it is, it could be taken as identity theft which can be quite serious an issue.

As long as you are of age as required by Paypal and from the US, I do not see why you cannot apply for an SSN if it is not already assigned to you.
